Geting Learner's License (L Plate)

To obtain a learner's license (Ls) in Granville and Auburn(NSW), you generally need to:

​

  1. Be 16 years of age or older.

  2. Provide proof of your identity.

  3. Pass an eyesight test to ensure you meet the minimum vision standards for driving.

  4. Pass the Driver Knowledge Test (DKT), which assesses your knowledge of road rules, traffic signs, and safe driving practices.

 

Once you have met these requirements and obtained your learner's license, you can begin learning to driveunder the supervision of a fully licensed driver. 

Getting your (P1)
provisional licence

  • be at least 17 years of age

  • have held a learner licence for at least 12 months, unless you’re aged 25 years or older

  • have logged at least 120 hours driving time in your Learner Driver Log Book, including at least 20 hours of night driving, unless you’re aged 25 years or older

  • pay the licence and test fees, unless you’re eligible for a concession

  • pass the Hazard Perception Test (HPT)

  • pass the driving test.
